FAQs

Do you supply any off-the-shelf products?

No, we only work with clients on developing original products specific to their brand's needs and markets. Even in the cases of in-house concept developments it would be highly unlikely that it would fit into a brand's profile exactly. Keep in mind that something as relatively simple as a change of fragrance to an existing product means it is a new formula, thus subject to every test and regulatory obligation that would be required for a brand new bespoke formula.

Do you offer free development if I have my products manufactured by you?

No. Bespoke development is a very involved process carried out by highly qualified scientists and technicians. Attempting to make compromises and cut costs at this early stage would set a dangerous precedent which, if carried through, would reflect in the final product and ultimately your brand.
All costs will be clearly communicated and agreed before any work is undertaken, and depending on the scale or urgency of the project we may ask for a percentage of these costs to be paid for in advance.

How long does the process take?

There are many variables in this but you should allow a minimum of 9 months and up to 1 year from initial brief to having your first production run. This is not a long time; keep in mind your product will be unique, so every aspect of its creation needs to be thought through and honed to fit your brand exactly. We don’t just draw with chalk and charcoal, we paint with the entire colour spectrum. View our timeline here.

Am I able to discuss requirements directly with a development chemist?

Yes, we positively encourage this. You will of course be assigned a customer relationship manager, who will be your main point of contact for every aspect of business with us, but when it comes to the actual product development you will also be assigned a cosmetic chemist. We encourage you to come down and spend time with them in the office and at the bench. This is the future of your brand, and we want you to be able to help shape the product.

Who are your current clients?

Although we are very proud of our clients they request anonymity and we respect this confidentiality. Typically they are exclusive, spa and boutique brands, or niche brands supplying very specific products for very specific markets. They are always driven by passion and a pursuit of excellence, always delivering quality.

If I have my product developed by you will I be locked into a manufacturing contract?

No. We believe that our service, quality and approachability will make the decision to use us as your preferred production partner an easy one, but we do understand that for a brand to flourish you need the flexibility to move supply as and when you wish.

What are your MOQs?

Whereas production runs below 1,000 units do start to attract heavy premiums, we will manufacture and fill any quantity you require.

Do you offer a full service?

No, this is no longer part of our business model and experience has taught us that it only serves to distract from our core competency. Your relationship manager can put you in contact with a variety of excellent companies from packaging suppliers to design agencies, all of whom we have dealt with.

Are the products you develop suitable for international markets?

Yes, the majority of products we have developed and manufacture are sold internationally. We spend a great deal of time keeping up to date with legislation from around the globe, and so long as we know the destination markets we will use raw materials at levels that will enable them to be sold in successfully. We are also fully GMP compliant so both formulae and our production processes will pass close inspection.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes, we have many international customers, and our knowledge of specialist agencies and shippers allows us to choose the most efficient export. We are only fourteen miles from the UK's largest gateway container port at Felixstowe and have quick access to Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow International Airports.
