ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND SUSTAINABILITY

From lowering greenhouse-gas emissions to protecting water quality and preserving wildlife habitats, we are constantly finding new and innovative ways to preserve and protect the environment, and to ensure that future generations will be able to enjoy the world around them.
We achieved our ISO 14001:2015 Certification in record time. This certification is recognition of our commitment and actions towards playing our part in managing our impact on our environment.ISO 14001:2015 Certification
ISO 14001:2015 is an internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems (EMS). It provides a framework that organisations can follow to establish and continuously improve their environmental performance. The certification is not just a one-time achievement; it demonstrates a company’s dedication to environmentally responsible practices and a commitment to ongoing improvement.
The Key Principles of ISO 14001:2015
Environmental Commitment: Jarvis Cosmetic Developments has showcased its commitment to sustainability by implementing environmental policies and objectives aimed at reducing its environmental footprint.
- Legal Compliance: The company complies with all relevant environmental legislation, ensuring that its operations are in alignment with local, national, and international environmental regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: ISO 14001:2015 encourages a culture of continuous improvement by setting targets, monitoring progress, and adapting practices to reduce environmental impact.
- Reduced Environmental Footprint: By optimising resource use, reducing waste, and minimising pollution, Jarvis Cosmetic Developments aims to minimise its environmental impact and promote sustainable business practices.
Underlying Principles
-
- Our commercial success benefits our shareholders, employees and customers. The success of our environmental management system will benefit not only those stakeholders in direct contact with us, but all those outside of that scope who may not even have heard of us or used our products.
- To implement a successful system, we need to understand what we put in the air, into the earth and into the water systems. As part of this process, we will critically evaluate our processes to understand how we create and manage waste, our handling and storage of raw materials and specifically, how we protect the world outside our factory from what we do within.
- The high standards of environmental management we require will be achieved through the implementation and consistent maintenance of a comprehensive Environmental Management System (EMS) to ISO 14001 standards. The application of this system is a team effort. The whole company is one team and therefore, the responsibility for the success of our EMS lies with everyone. It is the dictate of the directors and owners of this company, that the company will maintain our official certification as ISO 14001 and ensure we strive for continual improvement.
Implementation and Management Objectives
- Our first objective is to identify the impact that our operation, as it stands, has on the environment.
- Our second objective is to understand, measure and document how we control our environmental impact.
- Our third (and primary commercial) objective is to use the knowledge and available data to devise and implement systems that will reduce our environmental impact to the minimum that we can without destroying the business that we have, or service we offer.
